THE 2024 VINTAGE
The mild winter and an extraordinarily warm April led to a slightly earlier budbreak. May and June were marked by abundant rainfall and lower-than-average temperatures, followed by a scorching July and August, where extreme heat inhibited photosynthesis and delayed ripening. In early September, temperatures suddenly dropped below the seasonal norm, accompanied by frequent rainfall. This unusual climatic pattern has resulted in fresher wines, lower in alcohol and concentration, yet displaying surprisingly refined tannins.
TASTING NOTES
The color is bright ruby red with fresh, sweet and fruity aromas of blackberry and ripe cherry: floral and spicy notes of vanilla, tobacco and licorice are also evident. The structure is ample, concentrated and harmonious, with good acidity; beautiful final persistence that gives pleasantness to the drink.
TECHNICAL DATA

Aging in French oak casks of 60 and 90 hl and in 350-litre French oak barriques for 12 months
Soil vineyards in the hill area of the estate, with low to moderate incline. The soils develop on different types of sediments, from the clay sands of the marine Pliocene, deep soils with abundant and calcareous stones, to the gray-blue clays which are moderately deep mineral soils that tend to retain humidity.

The winter was mild, with temperatures slightly above seasonal averages. The early days of April were marked by cold snaps, causing some damage to budding, which only marginally affected Sangiovese. The growing cycle began with a significant delay, with some rains during the Spring. June was marked by cooler temperatures, under the seasonal average. THE 2005 VINTAGE
A normal spring progression marked by a pre-flowering hailstorm that resulted in a drastic reduction in production in certain vineyards. The summer was never scorching and August never saw the vines under stress; on the contrary, it was an unusually cool month. With the exception of the first week, September was warm and sunny, meaning the harvest could take place and be completed without any particular anxiety.
TASTING NOTES
The cooler-than-average summer significantly lengthened the grapevine cycle, allowing the grapes to ripen more gradually and harmoniously, thereby favouring greater aromatic expression, as well as a more complete polyphenolic ripening, thus yielding more fragrant and smooth wines.

Start of regular vegetative growth, characterised by good spring rainfall which favoured the replenishment of the water tables. Compared to recent years, the summer proved to be cooler and, most importantly, the temperature ranges between day and night were much higher. In particular, this latter aspect favoured a more gradual and balanced maturation than in 2003.
TASTING NOTES
The excellent insolation, good water and thermal availability resulted in the convergence of sugar and polyphenol ripeness, meaning that at harvest the skins were sufficiently soft and ready to release colour; for these reasons, the wine's structure is more substantial yet rounder, supported by greater colour intensity.

THE 2002 VINTAGE
A hot and dry start to the season had raised hopes for a high-quality grape harvest, but around August and September, heavy rain threatened its smooth progression. The rain partly hindered harvesting operations without, however, affecting the health of the vineyards, thanks both to the early harvest and the structure of the trellising systems: in fact, the wide spaces between the rows allowed optimal air circulation, essentially protecting the grapes from the risks of mould and rot.
