Banfi Piemonte
The Banfi Piemonte winery reflects the brand's philosophy and is a beacon of innovation, tradition and beauty in the renowned Piedmont wine region. Founded in 1979, when John and Harry Mariani took over the historic Bruzzone winery, it extends between the towns of Novi Ligure and Acqui, on 50 hectares, 46 of which are planted with vines. Since the beginning, it has pursued constant growth, with a focus on typicality and technological innovation, and a unique vocation for quality sparkling wines.
Piedmontese sparkling wine tradition
Visiting the winery is an immersive experience into the world of wine production. To each territory its wine
Banfi Piemonte is a name that conjures up images of lush vineyards and a winery steeped in history. Even in this region renowned for oenology, Banfi has been able to blend wine-making tradition with passion and innovation, creating unique symphonies of flavors and aromas. Among the most precious gems are the sparkling wines, produced using the classic method, an artisanal process that involves a second fermentation in the bottle. This method, handed down from generation to generation, gives the wines an unparalleled complexity and finesse.
The art of Banfi Piemonte however does not stop with the spumante. The cellar houses some of Piedmont's most representative red and white wines from sunny hillsides, where rows of Cortese and Barbera ripen under a blue sky, nourished by rich and generous soil. Every vine here tells a story that culminates in wines with a strong character and complex nuances. But Banfi is not content with executing the vinification of traditional wines to perfection: the Albarossa, an innovative cross between Nebbiolo and Barbera, represents a meeting point between tradition and modernity, a reinterpretation of the Piedmontese terroir that offers new sensory experiences.
And then there is Gavi, a white wine that embodies the freshness and liveliness of the land from which it comes. Cortese grapes, cultivated with care and respect for nature, give life to a wine that releases fruity and floral notes, bringing the history and beauty of the Gavi hills into every sip. Banfi's Gavi is more than just a wine: it is a symbol of Piedmontese oenological excellence, a tribute to the land and the passion that resides there.
