The Brunello di Montalcino Poggio alle Mura of Castello Banfi, triumphed in the competition for indigenous grape varieties "Perfect Wines 2011"organised every year by Vitignoitalia.
The competition, in line with the philosophy of the Salon and using a double jury, rewards the best wines from native Italian grape varieties.

In the days preceding Vitignoitalia, a commission of expert AIS Sommeliers carried out strictly blind tastings of some 300 wines. The technical jury then selected 20 wines, one for each grape variety, entrusting visitors to Vitignoitalia with the final verdict.
The popular jury therefore evaluated the wines tasted for taste and pleasantness, ultimately decreeing the Perfect Wines of Vitignoitalia 2011. A double victory therefore for Castello Banfi's Poggio alle Mura 2005, which was first selected by the technical jury and then widely appreciated by the general public of wine-lovers.
