    THE 2025 VINTAGE

Novello Santa Costanza is the first wine of the past harvest, young and easy to drink it is perfect for any occasion!

After a winter marked by typical climatic conditions, budbreak began at the usual time for our area. A rainy early spring encouraged vigorous shoot growth and replenished the soil's water reserves. June was notably dry, and toward the end of the month, temperatures reached exceptionally high levels, unprecedented for this period. July remained dry, with moderate temperatures that promoted optimal photosynthetic activity, advanced the onset of veraison, and allowed for excellent anthocyanin accumulation in the skins. August was torrid, with heat spikes that, thanks to good ventilation, caused no damage. From the final days of August through September, significant rainfall alternated with dry, sunny days, preserving the grapes from the risk of desiccation or excessive concentration.

    TASTING NOTES

The wine displays a bright ruby-red color with violet highlights. On the nose, it offers intense aromas of cherry, blueberry, and raspberry. On the palate, it is soft and graceful, with an easy, pleasant drinkability.

    THE 2024 VINTAGE

Novello Santa Costanza is the first wine of the past harvest, young and easy to drink it is perfect for any occasion!

The mild winter and an extraordinarily warm April led to a slightly earlier budbreak. May and June were marked by abundant rainfall and lower-than-average temperatures, followed by a scorching July and August, where extreme heat inhibited photosynthesis and delayed ripening. In early September, temperatures suddenly dropped below the seasonal norm, accompanied by frequent rainfall. This unusual climatic pattern has resulted in fresher wines, lower in alcohol and concentration, yet displaying surprisingly refined tannins.

    TASTING NOTES

Bright red wine with violet reflections. On the nose, the aroma is intense with pronounced notes of cherry, Parma violet and raspberry. It is a soft and graceful wine, easy to drink.

The winter was mild, with temperatures slightly above seasonal averages. The first few days of April were characterised by episodes of returning cold weather with some damage to budburst which only marginally affected the Sangiovese and Merlot, and spared the Cabernet Sauvignon. In the first four months of the year, rainfall was slightly lower than average. In the months of May and June, precipitation was extremely heavy, reaching two hundred millimetres of cumulative rainfall and twenty-eight rainy days out of sixty. Once the early summer months had passed, providentially, the weather pattern underwent a radical change with excellent sunshine and high temperatures. September was characterised by above-average temperatures and abundant northern winds with an almost total absence of rain. Harvesting of the Sangiovese began on the thirteenth of September while that of the Cabernet Sauvignon on the twentieth.
