Decanter wine world awards 2009: silver medal for 'poggio alle mura 2004' and bronze medal for 'centine 2007'.

May 2009, UK - Banfi's latest excellent results at the Decanter Wine World Awards 2009one of the most prestigious and influential international wine competitions.

The official results have just been released and will be published in the October 2009 issue of Decanter magazine.

Among the thousands of wines on tasting, from all over the world, the Poggio alle Mura 2004award-winning label, and the Hundreds 2007 have won excellent awards.

A bronze medal was awarded to the Hundreds 2007a young, fresh wine in which the best Tuscan tradition of Sangiovese blends well with that of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

The silver medal was awarded to the "Poggio alle Mura' 2004the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG produced exclusively with Sangiovese from in-house clonal selection, a label that best represents Banfi's thirty years of research experience with this prestigious variety in Montalcino.
