    TECHNICAL SHEET

    THE 2025 VINTAGE

After a winter with particularly low rainfall, spring was wet, with well-distributed rain that ensured a good water reserve. The weather pattern of the 2025 vintage was very variable, whilst remaining overall balanced. In general, there were no particularly impactful events, with the exception of the scorching heat in the first half of August, which led to the harvest being brought forward by about 7 to 8 days compared to the previous year. The storms on 17 and 18 August proved providential, freshening the air, lowering night-time temperatures and increasing the diurnal temperature range. The 2025 Barbera harvest began in mid-September, with perfectly healthy and ripe grapes.

    TASTING NOTES

Deep ruby red in colour with purple highlights, the nose is fruity and floral with notes of raspberry and violet. On the palate it is savoury and harmonious, with soft tannins and the right level of acid freshness typical of the grape variety. Long aftertaste with fruity notes reminiscent of cherry.

Fresh, fruity and complex, on the nose this wine is characterized by notes of cherry, violet and plum. In the mouth the typical acid freshness of the vine is perfectly balanced with the sweetness of the tannins. Long, persistent and fruity final.

    TECHNICAL SHEET

    THE 2023 VINTAGE

The winter was characterised by a prevailing absence of rainfall. In spring, active temperature values were lower than in 2022, resulting in an average delay in development of about 5 to 7 days which lasted until the harvest. Veraison began unevenly, which affected the harvest dates and yields. It only rained in May and June, albeit unevenly. High temperatures returned in July, leading to mild water stress phenomena, especially in young vineyards or those exposed to the south and south-west. The Barbera harvest began towards the end of September, benefiting from the heavy rainfall brought by thunderstorms at the end of August. The 2023 harvest was overall of excellent quality.

    TASTING NOTES

After a very dry winter, the vine sprouted in early April, with about a week of delay from 2021 and about two on 2020. The growth of the shoots has taken place very slowly due to the lack of moisture in the soil. April and May ended with normal temperatures for the period, but with very little rainfall. The flowering took place regularly with excellent weather conditions, ending in the last days of May, with good fertility and fruit set. The absence of rain continued in June and July and this, while on the one hand it curbed cryptogam infections, on the other it created concern about the progress of ripening. With the end of July and the beginning of August there were some storms followed by two days of moderate rains that, together with the lowering of temperatures especially at night, have toned up the vegetation. The 2022 harvest was therefore of very good quality with peaks of excellence.

Fresh, fruity and complex, on the nose this wine is characterized by notes of cherry, violet and plum. In the mouth the typical acid freshness of the vine is perfectly balanced with the sweetness of the tannins. Long, persistent and fruity final.

    THE 2021 VINTAGE

Thanks to its freshness and pleasantness, L'Altra is the perfect Barbera to enjoy in every occasion.

    TASTING NOTES

The winter was mild, with standard rainfall for the season, whereas the following months of April and May were characterized by temperatures below seasonal averages, which caused a modest delay in the flowering phase. The rise in temperatures, as well as the lack of rain, in June and July created a slight water stress and a minor delay in ripening in some vineyards. The excellent temperature variations and sunny weather in September and October ensured a perfect harvest, with grapes of excellent quality.

Thanks to its freshness and drinkability, L'Altra is the perfect Barbera for any kind of occasion.

A lively and soft wine that reinterprets the Piedmontese tradition of Moscato, expressing all the typical sweet and aromatic characteristics of this varietal.

    TASTING NOTES

The seasonal course of 2020 was characterized by an anticipation of all phenological phases; the mild winter caused early budding and, subsequently, the high spring temperatures also accelerated the flowering process, which occurred earlier than average. Then, thanks to the high temperature ranges of August and September, the grapes presented an excellent quality, making 2020 an excellent harvest.
