    THE 2023 VINTAGE

A perfect mix of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon that gives life to an immediate and extremely versatile wine.

    TASTING NOTES

The winter was mild, with temperatures slightly above seasonal averages. The first days of April were characterized by episodes of cold return with some sprouting damage that only marginally affected Sangiovese and spared Cabernet Sauvignon. In the first four months of the year, rainfall was slightly lower than average. In May and June rainfall was extremely heavy, reaching two hundred millimeters of cumulative rainfall and twenty-eight out of sixty rainy days. Having passed the early summer months, providentially, the climatic pattern had a radical change with excellent sunshine and high temperatures. September was characterized by above-average temperatures and abundant northerly winds with almost no rain. The Sangiovese harvest began on September thirteenth while the Cabernet Sauvignon harvest began on the twentieth.

Ruby red color; intense, fresh and fruity aroma defined by small currants, plum and wild strawberry; soft structure in the mouth with sweet tannins and supported by good acidity; lingering and pleasant mouth finish.

    THE 2022 VINTAGE

A perfect mix of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon that gives life to an immediate and extremely versatile wine.

    TASTING NOTES

The growing season started in the usual time after a winter period typical of our areas with minimum temperatures below zero during the first three months of the year. Sprouting occurred a few days earlier than usual for the area. The first four months of the year were characterized by below-average rainfall with about one hundred and seventy millimeters from January to April. Spring was characterized by dry weather with temperatures several degrees above the seasonal average, especially in May. In summer, lack of rainfall and torrid temperatures marked June, July and most of August. In the red varieties, thanks to the rains in late August and early September, there was no dehydration of the grapes, and the good temperature ranges favored a nice aromatic and acidic synthesis. Harvesting of red varieties began in early September, Sangiovese about two weeks later, concluding in mid-October with late varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon. Quality was good in all the estate areas with excellence in the highest areas of Montalcino. Hot vintage until August which, thanks to rains and good pre-harvest temperature swings, had good fruit retention and a nice tannic balance.

    THE 2020 VINTAGE

Mild temperatures and low rainfall during the winter and spring periods favoured the early vegetative development of the vines. In the month of June there was various precipitation, accompanied by mild temperatures, which allowed for a surprising vegetative-productive balance of the vineyards. The other summer months were hot and sunny, allowing for perfect veraison and ripening of the grapes. Harvesting took place earlier than normal. The grapes, in a perfect state, thanks to good diurnal temperature ranges and the absence of rain, presented excellent aromatic profiles and good acidity.
