    THE 2024 VINTAGE

The mild winter and an extraordinarily warm April led to a slightly earlier budbreak. May and June were marked by abundant rainfall and lower-than-average temperatures, followed by a scorching July and August, where extreme heat inhibited photosynthesis and delayed ripening. In early September, temperatures suddenly dropped below the seasonal norm, accompanied by frequent rainfall. This unusual climatic pattern has resulted in fresher wines, lower in alcohol and concentration, yet displaying surprisingly refined tannins.

    THE 2023 VINTAGE

The winter was mild, with temperatures slightly above seasonal averages. The first days of April were characterized by episodes of cold return with some sprouting damage that only marginally affected Sangiovese. Once the early summer months had passed, providentially, the weather pattern changed dramatically with excellent sunshine and high temperatures. September was characterized by above-average temperatures and abundant northerly ventilation with almost no rainfall.

    THE 2022 VINTAGE

After a rather harsh winter and with little rainfall, the vegetative season started in the usual times. The lack of rain continued also in the spring and summer months, with temperatures higher than average, from May and hot days in the summer months. Thanks to the early harvesting of the grapes, the varietal scents have been preserved, together with a good acidity and great structure.

A warm year until the month of August which, thanks to the rains and the good pre-harvest temperature, has had a good conservation of the fruit and a nice tannic balance.

    THE 2020 VINTAGE

Mild temperatures and low rainfall during the winter and spring periods favoured the early vegetative development of the vines. In the month of June there was various precipitation, accompanied by mild temperatures, which allowed for a surprising vegetative-productive balance of the vineyards. The other summer months were hot and sunny, allowing for perfect veraison and ripening of the grapes. Harvesting took place earlier than normal. The grapes, in a perfect state, thanks to good diurnal temperature ranges and the absence of rain, presented excellent aromatic profiles and good acidity.

    TASTING NOTES

Deep mauve red. On the nose the perfume is complex and gives off intense hints of red fruits, cherries and blackberries. On the palate the structure is well balanced by softness. Long and persistent finish.

    THE 2019 VINTAGE

The extraordinarily cold weather in April and May caused a delay in the growing season, which was recuperated later, thanks to a warm and dry period. The sudden rise in temperature then favored the production of sparse and light grape bunches. August and September, sunny and without torrid temperatures, allowed for an optimal ripening of the grapes. A harvest which will go down in history, with grapes of high quality and an intense territorial personality which gave us wines with great structure and sapidity.
