THE 2023 VINTAGE
The winter was mild, with temperatures slightly above seasonal averages. The early days of April were marked by cold snaps, causing some damage to budding, which only marginally affected Sangiovese. The first four months of the year saw rainfall slightly below the average for the period. In May and June, precipitation was extremely abundant, with a total of 200 millimeters of accumulated rain and 28 rainy days out of 60.
TASTING NOTES
After the early summer months, the weather pattern fortunately underwent a radical change, bringing excellent sunlight and high temperatures. September was characterized by above-average temperatures and abundant northerly winds, with almost no rainfall. Deep mauve red, with a complex and rich bouquet. Hints of plum jam and blackberry evolve, then, into notes of vanilla, licorice, and leather, deriving from aging. In the mouth, it is balanced and persistent. Long finish.

THE 2022 VINTAGE
The growing season began at the usual time following a winter typical of our areas, with minimum temperatures below zero in the first three months of the year. Budburst occurred a few days earlier than the local standard. The first four months of the year were characterised by below-average rainfall, with about one hundred and seventy mm from January to April. Spring was characterised by a dry climate with temperatures a few degrees above the seasonal average, especially in May. In summer, the lack of rainfall and scorching temperatures marked the months of June, July and much of August; a climatic trend that led to an earlier harvesting period for the whites. In the red varieties, thanks to the rain at the end of August and early September, there was no dehydration of the grapes and good temperature ranges favoured a fine aromatic and acidic synthesis. Harvesting of the red varieties began in the first days of September, Sangiovese about two weeks later, concluding the harvest in mid-October with the late varieties.

2019
THE 2019 VINTAGE
The extraordinarily cold weather in April and May caused a delay in the growing season, which was recuperated later, thanks to a warm and dry period. The sudden rise in temperature then favored the production of sparse and light grape bunches. August and September, sunny and without torrid temperatures, allowed for an optimal ripening of the grapes. A harvest which will go down in history, with grapes of high quality and an intense territorial personality which gave us wines with great structure and sapidity.
