The project of the Sanguis Jovis research and training centre was born from the desire to increase and spread the culture of Sangiovese. The presentation will be at Vinitaly, on 9 April at 15:00, at the Castello Banfi stand (Hall 9/D6)
(Montalcino, 31 March 2017) - The Banfisi Foundation is the promoter of the Sanguis Jovis project, a research and training centre of excellence on Sangiovese. The Alta Scuola del Sangiovese, whose objective is to increase and spread the culture of this vine, will help give Montalcino a further, innovative, distinctive positioning in the world of wine, both internationally and nationally.
President of Sanguis Jovisè Professor Attilio Scienza of the University of Milan, Scientific Director Professor Alberto Mattiacci of the Sapienza University of Rome, both members of the Scientific Committee of the Banfi Foundation.
The centre's programme is mainly carried out through three complementary lines of activity, which are scientific research, with the conception and conduction of experimental projects; advanced training, with courses and seminars aimed at forming a new wine culture, addressed both to young graduates and people already employed in the sector; and communication of knowledge, through popularisation materials.
The project will be extensively illustrated at Vinitaly, during a press conference scheduled for Sunday 9 April at 15:00, at the Castello Banfi stand (Hall 9/D6).
Interested journalists are kindly invited to attend.
This occasion will also see the presentation of the first edition of the Summer School Sanguis Jovis, which will be held at OCRA Scuola Permanente dell'Abitare (Via Boldrini 4, Montalcino), from 25 to 30 September 2017 and will have as its theme: Sangiovese 4.0, scientific and cultural innovation for Sangiovese in the world.
