Jazz & Wine in Montalcino 2025: a Festival That Still Echoes Within Us

Every summer, for the past twenty-eight years, the rolling hills of Montalcino have become the stage for a rare and precious encounter: the meeting of jazz music and wine — of emotion and identity.

Jazz & Wine in Montalcino is much more than a festival. It is a journey, a story in which notes blend with aromas, sound meets history, and the audience becomes immersed in an experience that speaks of beauty, culture, and place.

The 2025 edition was one of the most well-attended and heartfelt ever. The numbers tell the story, of course, but even more so does the audience’s response — attentive, curious, and enthusiastic. It could be felt in the energy of the six concerts that lit up Castello Banfi during the first two evenings and the fourteenth-century fortress of Montalcino for the rest, transforming them, night after night, into places suspended in time.

Among the voices and sounds that enriched the program were true legends of music: Kenny BarronEnrico PieranunziMalika Ayanethe Academy Award-winner Nicola Piovani, Javier Girotto Javier GirottoFabrizio Bosso e l’and the Avishai Cohen Quartet. Each brought their own vision and artistry, contributing to a collective narrative that will remain in the memory of all who were there.

But behind every success lies a shared vision. Jazz & Wine is the fruit of a strong and passionate collaboration between Banfi, the Rubei family of theAlexanderplatz Jazz Club in Rome, the Municipality of Montalcino and the entire local community. It is an event that does not simply welcome its audience but engages the territory, activates it, and celebrates it.

Castello Banfi and the Fortress of Montalcino are not just two extraordinary locations — they are symbols. They tell a story of hospitality, attention to detail, and care for what is authentic. They have always been guardians of the deep bond between culture, art, and wine.

And as we prepare for the 29th edition, our gaze is already fixed beyond, toward the milestone of 30 years. With the same passion as the very first day — and with the awareness of just how far a shared dream can go in becoming, year after year, a reality.
