Agostino di MontalcinoMOS Matter of Stuff presents the First Edition of Montalcino Design Week 2016showcasing a preview of the design pieces developed during the "MOS Designer Residencies Competition"which saw the winners Alessandro Zambelli, Nina Cho, Olga Bielawska, Tim Vanlier, Tomas Gabzdil Libertiny, Studio Uufie.
"MOS Designer Residencies Competition is an international competition promoted since December 2015 by MOS Matter of Stuff in collaboration with OCRA Officina CReativa dell'Abitare and Permanent School of Living.
Montalcino Design Week 2016
In this first edition, 120 entries were received from all over the world: the jury composed of Sofia Steffenoni and Simona Auteri fwaved Matter of Stuff, Sebastian Bergne designer and visiting professor, Edoardo Milesi OCRA and Archos, Giovanni Cutolo former President Fondazione ADI Collezione Compasso d'Oro and representatives of selected marble and metal companies, identified those projects that best combined innovation, technology, design and creativity.
I 6 winners were able to develop their project research in collaboration with the two companies Toscari and Carrara Design Factory during a month of residence 18 April to 14 May 2016aiming for a new approach to design in the two materials, marble and metal.
Banfi embraced the project and is one of the initiative's main partners.
The exhibition will remain open to the public 14 July to 30 November 2016.
