On the 6th of July Castello Banfi will host Melodia del Vino, the first Italian edition of the International Classical Music Festival, with Emmanuel Rossfelder’s guitar concert.
The festival of “Grands Crus Musicaux” was born in Bordeaux in 2002 and since then, every year, the entire region pulses thanks to great concerts while all attending guests have the opportunity of tasting the best wines of the area. The format, after being successfully tested in Bordeaux, has been transferred this year in Tuscany, where some of the most famous fine wine producers of the region will host the performances by many famous artists.
For instance, Emmanuel Rossfelder’s “musical color” takes its origin from the guitar, an instrument played since Rossfelder was 14. He soon proved to be a precocious talent, given that the first worldwide recognized prize comes when he is 18 and it is soon followed by many others: from the first prize at the Guitar Masters of Paris and the Special Grand Prize Pierre Salvy, an honor granted from the French Ministry of Culture.Mr. Rossfelder’s first CD “Danses latines” makes its appearance in 2000, followed by “Découverte Classica” in 2001. His 2003 tour in the United states is a triumph, gathering more than 2500 spectators each date in Boston, New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. The latest masterpiece of this guitarist is called “La Guitare Lyrique” and dates 2011.
In the fifth stage of the festival "Melodia del Vino " the guitarist, appreciated by critics worldwide and winner of numerous awards including the award for the Guitar Masters in Paris, the Grand Prix Special Pierre Salvy, and the prize Stotsenberg International (USA ), will perform a concert that wants to be a combination of art, sound and taste, in the picturesque Tuscan setting of Castello Banfi.
The U.S. tour of 2003 has given to him popularity overseas. This year, with the release of his new CD "The Guitar Lyrique", the skilled musician copes with challenging arrangements of classical pieces by composers such as Schubert, Mozart and Verdi.
During the concert all guests are invited to taste the Banfi Brut, a Spumante Metodo Classico produced by Vigne Regali the Piedmontese Banfi winery sister along with the prestigious Castello Banfi Rosso di Montalcino 2009.
