2010 2 September

(Montalcino, September 2nd, 2010) – Right after one century the launch of its first vintage champagne, the House of Joseph Perrier introduces a new range of vintage cuvees, a Rosé and a Blanc de Blancs, from the outstanding 2002 harvest. This year embodies a big opportunity, that has produced extraordinary fruity champagnes with long and intense aromatic notes, which give them huge character and personality.

Great attention has been given to the packaging; in fact the new cuvees have a truly unique bottle which recalls those used during the Victorian age. In the archives Jean-Claude Fourmon, owner of Joseph Perrier, rediscovered an example used from around 1860 that was labeled “Ay Mosseux” since the word champagne did not appear regularly on champagne labels until after this time. This bottle has two distinctive characters: a very small punt, and a decoration of bubbles around the base.

The 2002 Vintage Blanc de Blancs together with the 2002 Vintage Rosé will be at the center of the wine event that will be held at the impressive Castello Banfi next October, 4th.

The two new labels will be available in Italy starting from 2010 Christmas. They join the other two Vintages produced by Joseph Perrier: the Brut and the Josephine which together with the Cuvee Royale Brut, Demi-Sec, Rosé and Blanc de Blancs complete the entire range of Champagne Joseph Perrier that in Italy is distributed by Banfi Distribuzione.
